I WRITE

I WRITE
I write the things I cannot say
The things I’m too exhausted to repeat
The things I’ve told you more than once
Gems given, you’ve not received
~
The words I’ve set on wings of intent
remain afloat in the air spinning around
Spoken deliberately never aimed at the ground
somehow trampled under foot
left void of sound
~
With redundancy they’ve lost their edge
watching you appear numb
Their potency unrecognized
they’ve retreated unwelcome
~
So I put pen to paper where my words are never discarded
Where they’re value remain intact and your indifference can’t harm them
My heart speaks to paper what you refuse to hear me say
My heart rests on paper… it’s validation…uninjured and safe
