There are days when I’m strong

And you can hear me as woman

Roaring across a thousand miles

Of desert that separate us though

A key stroke and mere mile away

Days when I feel good about what

I gave, shared, and did that I can

never take back, withhold or undo

And then there are days and

moments like now

When the warmth of these tears

Wouldn’t be enough to warm your

You’re so cold

And I don’t know why

I understand there were times

I read what you never wrote

And heard what you never said

But I’m not hallucinating

And cling to every word that you

 did say

Allowing it to coat, calm and

 comfort me

Wanting to believe you were

different because you were different

And you made me feel different and

see things differently

What did you see

That made you leave gradually

Or was it suddenly?

I deleted everything

I remember everything

I remember you

Do you ever think of me

And if so, is it fondly?
